The KS98 (Kurzes Seitengewehr 98) is a German bayonet model that saw service during both World War I and World War II, in various variations. The term "extraseitengewehr" or "extra side bayonet" often refers to the ceremonial or dress bayonets that were privately purchased and worn by soldiers on parade or dress occasions, and were not intended for combat use.
This item:
an early short KS98 made by WKC with all metal parts originally made in black. The blade has stains and have seen better days but it retains most of it's factory polish. The grip is very beautiful and made out of Deerhorn which were very popular amongst Jägertruppe or Gebirgsjägertruppe. It comes with it's original lacquered frog. The scabbard retains most of it's original paint.
A very nice bayonet
