€ 3.295,00

We are dealing here with a uniform from a Major of Artillerie Rgt.5 from Ulm originating from a private estate. The whole ensemble is in an untouched condition and has never been on the market before. This sale consists:

  • M36 tunic, complete with shoulderboards, collar tabs, EK2 ribbon WWI, Wiederholungsspange 1939 EK2, Wiederholungsspange 1939 EK1 and the S.A Sportabzeichen in Silber

  • Zweidornschnalle

  • Schirmmutze

  • M36 Greatcoat

German Wehrmacht's Artillerie-Regiment 5 (Artillery Regiment 5) which was garrisoned in Ulm. The Artillerie-Regiment 5 (Art.Rgt. 5) was a key component of the 5th Infantry Division, later renamed the 5th Jäger Division. The regiment was formed and largely based in Ulm an der Donau, Germany, with its replacement and training unit, Artillerie-Ersatz-Abteilung 5, also stationed there. The regiment saw extensive action throughout the war, including the invasion of Poland, fighting in France, and major campaigns on the Eastern Front, particularly with Army Group Centre near areas like Witebsk.

Tunic:
In a mint condition this superb quality custom fitted private purchase, field-grey wool/rayon blend construction tunic. Tailored by the company Muller & Co from Ulm. The tunic features a vertical, five button front (Assmann) closure with dual metal hooks and eyes at the neck, it comes with a "kragenbinde" (collar liner). The tunic has four, pleated, front pockets with scalloped button down flaps. It comes with numerous medal loops (9), if you look carefully at the pictures you will see the imprint just below the left pocket where the Iron cross 1st class has been . Collar tabs, shoulder boards and hand-embroidered breast badge are original period application. All 4 shoulderboards from tunic and greatcoat are matching Cypher 5, If you look closely at the photos, you can see that short ribbons have been attached under the shoulder boards. These were added by the tailor to indicate that both the jacket and the coat belong to the same person. I guess it was picked up at the tailor's and never been worn ever since. I left them in place; they are all secured with a small safety pin. At the second button loop hole a tailored EK2 WW1 ribbon with a wiederholungsspange 1939 attached with all four prongs, the spange has a nice patina, (i did not remove it, so I cannot determ a maker mark). On the left side pocket attached a wiederholungsspange EKI 1939, made by L/18 which is B.H. Mayer' from Pforzheim. It comes also with the S.A sportabzeichen in silber made by Bonner Kunstabzeichen Bedarf from Bonn. The interior of the tunic is fully lined in grey/green rayon with grey off-white striped sleeves. The nickel plated dagger hanger is present which is made by the company Assmann. Buttons are all original application. The tunic measures from shoulder to shoulder 45 CM, sleeve length 65 CM, CM. A beautiful, clean and untouched tunic.

Greatcoat:
MINT contidion Private purchase, M35 pattern, greatcoat. Field-grey wool construction, double breasted style, full length, greatcoat with a dark green cloth lay down collar. The greatcoat features dual, vertical, parallel, rows of six front closure buttons (Assmann) with corresponding button holes on the left front panel, and a single button hole on the right front panel. The greatcoat also has a single metal hook and eye at the neckline, also 2 hooks and eyes are attached at the 'hem", for a stylish and easier movement. Buttons are original stitching. Mint pair of Major's shoulder boards, matching with the tunic above. Original sword/dagger hanger strap with Nickel plated Assman fitting is still present. A GREAT coat!

Visor cap:
A nice officers Artillery (red piping), Schirmmutze or visor cap. Made by "Deutsche Wertarbeit". Zinc eagle and hand woven silver bullion cockade. It has a very nice saddle shape, made from wool and unfortunately it comes with a few moth holes (see pictures), but not really disturbing. Size is approximately 57. A clean and untouched visor hat!

Zweidorn Belt:
A beautifull brown belt with a full lenght of 105 CM. The belt is in a near mint conditioin and is lined with green felth to protect the tunic.

This was an incredible and unusual find which does not come by every day. Sales would be a whole lot easier to sell these items seperately, but I couldn't bring myself to do that.
