Frontflugspange fur Transportflieger in Gold
Category:
The Frontflugspange für Transportflieger (Front Flight Clasp for Transport Pilots) was a Nazi German military award specifically for Luftwaffe (German Air Force) personnel during World War II. This clasp was established to recognize the number of operational sorties completed by transport and airborne troops (Transport- und Luftlandeflieger). The award was instituted on November 19, 1941, by Hermann Göring, Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe. Before that date, transport pilots received the general Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger. The clasp was awarded in various grades based on the number of operational sorties: Bronze: for 20 operational sorties. Silver: for 60 operational sorties. Gold: for 110 operational sorties. The insignia was a metal buckle with a national emblem (eagle with swastika) in the center, surrounded by an oak leaf wreath, flanked by stylized wings. It was worn on the left breast of the uniform, one centimeter above the order pin.
