Feldbinde for a Wehrmacht Officer

WW2 Feldbinde für ein Offizier" refers to the specific brocade dress belt and circular belt buckle worn by German officers in the Wehrmacht (Armed Forces) during World War II.
This belt was a formal item of uniform, distinct from the standard field gear. The belt itself was made from a 4.5 cm wide woven fabric, typically silver aluminum threads for most officers (Leutnant to Oberst) with two dark green stripes running through it. It featured a two-piece, die-stamped, circular belt buckle. The design usually included a highly embossed oak-leaf wreath surrounding a central Wehrmacht-style eagle clutching a swastika. Silver finish was used for company and field grade officers (ranks up to Colonel). Gilt (gold) finish was reserved for General officers (Generalmajor up to Generalfeldmarschall). The reverse side of the brocade belt was often lined with a velvet-like or other coarse fabric for comfort and to protect the uniform. The Feldbinde was introduced in July 1937 and was worn for official occasions, including parade dress, formal dress, and service dress when full decorations were ordered. The standard field service belt for daily use was the plain leather or web belt with a standard dual-prong or box buckle.
