The Treudienst-Ehrenzeichen (Decoration of Honor for Loyal Service) was a civilian award in Nazi Germany, instituted on January 30, 1938, by Adolf Hitler. It was intended to reward civil servants, employees, and workers in the public and private sectors for long and loyal service. Civil servants at the local, regional, and national levels, as well as workers in the private sector (for the highest grade). The decoration consisted of a Maltese cross with an oak leaf wreath and a black enameled swastika in the center. The reverse bore the inscription "Für treue Dienste" (For Loyal Service). It was worn on a cornflower blue ribbon. The award had three main levels based on years of service:
Second Class (Silver): For 25 years of loyal service in the public sector. First Class (Gold): For 40 years of loyal service in the public sector. Special Grade (Sonderstufe): For 50 years of loyal service, specifically intended for employees and workers in the private sector. This cross was made of silver with a gold wreath and the number "50" on the upper arm. Although a significant number of these medals were awarded, their awarding was largely halted in February 1942 due to the war. After World War II, the wearing of this specific decoration was banned in the Federal Republic of Germany due to its Nazi symbolism.
