"Nahkampfspange in Bronze" translates to "Bronze Close Combat Clasp". This was a German military decoration during World War II. It was awarded to Wehrmacht soldiers who had participated in close combat for a certain number of days. The bronze version was the lowest class of the decoration and was awarded to infantrymen who had: spent one day in close combat for those previously awarded, or spent 15 days in close combat (if this was their first such award). There were also silver (30 days of close combat) and gold (50 days of close combat) versions.
