A Heereshemd (Army Shirt) refers to the standard-issue service shirt worn by the Heer (Army) and often the Waffen-SS, serving as a versatile garment designed to be worn either under the Feldbluse (field tunic) or on its own in warmer weather. The shirt featured a half-button, overhead design (pullover style). It typically included two pleated breast pockets, shoulder board buttons and loops for attaching epaulettes (shoulder straps), and buttoned cuffs. While early-war shirts were sometimes white or off-white, the M43 pattern was standardized in shades of green (schilfgrün/reed green) to slate grey or "mouse grey". They were made from durable cotton or cotton-rayon mix materials. These shirts became increasingly popular as the war progressed. By 1943, due to warmer weather or shortages, it became permitted to wear the shirt without the tunic, making the addition of shoulder board buttons necessary for displaying rank.
This item:
A stonemint M43 Aertex military shirt that's rarely offered. It's never been issued, okay, it's the largest size, and at first glance, it looks like it was made for a giant. But after a few washes, it shrinks considerably and became sort of tube, one of the unique properties of this fabric. I couldn't find a size stamp, but it's guaranteed to be original.
