The Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ or DJV) was the junior branch of the Hitler Youth in Nazi Germany, specifically for boys aged 10 to 14. The organization served as the first stage of state-directed indoctrination for young men before they transitioned to the Hitler Youth proper at age 14. The primary goal was the early indoctrination of children with National Socialist ideology and antisemitism. The focus was on creating an "ideologically robust and physically tough" generation to safeguard the future of the Third Reich. The boys participated in outdoor activities, camping, sports, parades, and basic military exercises. These activities were designed to foster camaraderie, discipline, and physical strength. While participation was initially voluntary (although subject to considerable social pressure), membership became legally mandatory for all "Aryan" boys starting in December 1936. This conscription was further tightened in 1939.Structure: The Jungvolk was part of a broader hierarchy. Girls of the same age were placed in the Jungmädelbund. After the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945, the organization, along with all other Nazi institutions, was banned by the Allied Control Council. In the final stages of World War II, some members of the Jungvolk, despite their young age, were even deployed as child soldiers in the defense of German cities.

This belt was among a batch of other belts and didn't immediately catch my eye. Normally, you'd think it was an early buckle. This one (if you look closely at the photos) is stamped RZM in the catch and the length is very short, but it's also neatly marked "65." as in 65 cm. This is the average waist of a child of about 10 years old. So, I conclude it's a Jungvolk belt. It's still in very good condition and quite rare.
