From Medal in memory of 13 March 1938 (also called Ostmark-Medaille) is a German World War II decoration, instituted on May 1, 1938 by Adolf Hitler. It commemorates the Connection (annexation) of Austria to Nazi Germany. Decoration for military personnel and civilians who were involved in the annexation of Austria. The obverse shows a figure helping another person on a pedestal, with a swastika. The reverse bears the inscription: "13. März 1938" and "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer". Bronze-coloured/silver-plated, usually made of tombak.
It was the first in a series of "occupation medals". The medal was awarded in large numbers to persons who contributed to the capture of Austria, which took place on 12 and 13 March 1938.

This medal is in good condition, fortunately never polished. The ribbon has been shortened, probably to complement the ribbon bar.
