Soldier's Cross for Bravery (Bulgarian: Войнишки кръст "За храброст"). In contrast to the officer's versions, which have red and white enamel, these crosses are made entirely of metal without enamel. Intended for corporals, non-commissioned officers and soldiers for exceptional bravery on the battlefield. A Maltese cross of approximately 34 mm wide, made of silver or silver-plated bronze. It has crossed swords between the arms and a medallion with the Bulgarian lion in the middle. First and II degree: These are Gold Plated (gold-coloured). IIIe and IVe degree: These are silver-plated or silver. The Silver Soldier's Cross for Bravery was awarded on a large scale to German soldiers during the First and Second World War. Because Bulgaria was an ally of Germany in both wars, these decorations were exchanged as a sign of military camaraderie. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of German soldiers decorated with the Soldier's Cross. In German the medal was called "soldatenkreuz das tapferkeitsordens"
