Rare 1933 NSDAP "Sonnenwende Bergisch Land" Tinnie Production Die / Steel Coining Stamp
An incredibly rare, museum-grade original 1933 Third Reich steel coining stamp / production die (Prägestempel). This heavy factory-grade tool was used to strike and manufacture the early rectangular NSDAP propaganda tinnie (day badge) commemorating the "Sonnenwende- / Zeitenwende-Feier Bergisch Land 1933" (Solstice / Turn of Eras Celebration). The face of the matrix features the negative (intaglio) design of the badge, displaying the iconic heraldic Bergische Löwe (Bergisch Lion) at the top, a prominent central swastika, and the event inscription. Industrial manufacturing tools like this are virtually impossible to find, as the vast majority of wartime factory dies were scrapped for raw materials or destroyed during the Allied de-nazification process.
This item:
Surface & Matrix: The engraved design remains razor-sharp, deep, and perfectly legible. The negative detailing for the lion, text, and swastika shows no major flat spots or catastrophic tool damage, indicating it was well-preserved after its production run.
Patina & Metal Preservation: The heavy block of industrial steel has acquired a beautiful, uncleaned dark patina. There is minor, honest surface oxidation and grease residue consistent with industrial workshop storage, giving it an authentic vintage appearance.
Edges & Backing: The structural block shows typical manufacturing marks, light edge burrs, and wear from being clamped into a heavy industrial drop-forge or fly-press.
Overall State: Excellent, untouched industrial surplus condition. A highly unique artifact that bridges the gap between historical militaria and industrial manufacturing history.
