WWII German Heer / SS Uniform Cloth Kragenbinde (56 cm). An original World War II German military uniform collar liner (Kragenbinde), standard issue for both Wehrmacht (Heer) and Waffen-SS enlisted men and non-commissioned officers. This essential field gear item was buttoned directly into the interior neckband of combat tunics (such as the M36, M40, or M43 models) to protect the soldier's neck from the abrasive wool and to keep the uniform clean from sweat and dirt. Measuring 56 cm in total length, this example features the standard design with three central buttonholes and one additional buttonhole at each tapered end. It represents a fantastic, textbook accessory to complete a frontline combat tunic display.
This Item
Material & Construction: The collar liner is crafted from standard wartime materials, complete with its original and structurally sound stitching. It features the historically correct layout of 5 buttonholes in total. Uniquely, the liner still retains an original button fastened to it, which is highly uncommon as these small pieces were frequently lost or detached over time.
Size & Measurements: The piece has a full length of 56 cm, making it a desirable size for display or mounting onto an original size-compatible mannequin setup. Excellent, lightly field-used combat condition. It shows honest signs of period wear and light age toning, but remains completely free of heavy staining, dry rot, major fraying, or structural damage.
