Wallet with 18 Original Coins & Eagle Imprint

WWII German Soldier's Leather Wallet with 18 Original Coins & Cap Eagle Imprint. A fascinating, highly personal original World War II German soldier's breast-pocket wallet (Brusttaschenbörse). Measuring a compact 10x7 cm, this brown leather pouch was discovered inside the tunic breast pocket of a German estate lot. It was designed to safely hold a soldier's identification tag (Erkennungsmarke), small documents, family photographs, and currency while on the frontline. Incredibly, the wallet comes complete with its original wartime contents: a hoard of 18 Third Reich coins found directly inside the compartment. Adding to its immense combat character, a metal visor cap eagle (Schirmmützenadler) was once pinned directly onto the front leather surface. While the eagle was removed post-war, it left behind a razor-sharp physical imprint along with the 3 original prong holes punctured through the leather.

The Eagle Insignia Imprint: The front leather surface features a spectacular, crisp imprint of the iconic national eagle. The wartime owner custom-decorated his wallet by mounting a metal cap eagle onto the front. The 3 original holes from the attachment prongs remain clearly visible where they were pushed through the leather, and the heavy outline of the wings and swastika are beautifully preserved.
