(Anschluss-Medaille) An original and highly desirable 13 March 1938 Commemorative Medal (Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 13. März 1938), complete with its scarce original red presentation case. Instituted to commemorate the annexation of Austria into the German Reich (the Anschluss), this medal features the iconic symbolic design of one figure holding the flag, guiding a second figure onto the podium. The lid of the red presentation case features a beautifully nice, detailed gold-embossed national eagle. An excellent, complete set that displays wonderfully.

The medal is in authentic, worn condition, boasting a rich, dark period patina across its surfaces that beautifully highlights the details of the strike. It comes mounted on its original ribbon, which is intact but lacks a pin attachment on the reverse side. The original red presentation case remains in very clean and neat condition, showing only light handling wear along the edges. The silver-foil eagle on the lid is exceptionally sharp, and the interior push-button catch opens and closes perfectly. The maker is unmarked, which is common for this issue
