An original pre-war German 1934 National Labor Day commemorative tinnie (Veranstaltungsabzeichen - Tag der Arbeit 1934). Designed by the prominent artist Richard Klein, this iconic early speldje features a detailed national eagle clutching a swastika, flanked by a traditional hammer and sickle to symbolize the alignment of industrial and agricultural workers. Struck from bronze-toned metal, these early-period tinnies display much higher craftsmanship than the later wartime zinc variants. A very nice, classic filler piece for any display of German political or civilian organization insignia.

The tinnie is in nice, stable, and honest condition, displaying an attractive, authentic age patina across the bronze/gold-toned surfaces. The striking shows good depth and crisp details on the eagle, lettering, and tools, with some light, period-correct storage wear and minor oxidation. The reverse is entirely intact, complete with its original, factory-secured pin and catch mechanism, which functions perfectly and remains structurally strong.
