Manufactured from heavy-duty, premium quality bridle leather, this specialized saddlebag features a prominent oval manufacturer's hallmark from the renowned firm Karl Boll on the front. This set is complete with three original wartime medical dressings, including a large professional cotton roll and a 1940-dated field bandage, making it an excellent display-ready piece for advanced Wehrmacht equipment collectors.
This Item
The saddlebag is in nice, completely functional condition, showing honest period usage and a rich, deep leather patina.
The Exterior: The heavy leather remains strong and supple. The central front lock mechanism is fully operational and is stamped with the period manufacturer's logo depicting an "S" inside a horseshoe (Schlieper). The right side retains its original closure strap and buckle. Please note that the left side is missing the rectangular metal pass-through loop and its corresponding small strap. The top features a fully functional, sturdy leather carrying handle, and both original mounting/suspension rings are present on the reverse side (no shoulder strap included). A prominent, large military inspection stamp (eagle/Abnahmestempel) is clearly visible.
The Interior: Exceptional and 100% complete. All original compartments, fabric dividers, retaining ribbons, and interior leather closing straps with buckles remain intact and undamaged. The Contents: Includes three original period medical items:
A large, intact roll of antiseptic cotton wool (Verbandwatte) treated according to the method of Prof. Dr. von Bruns, measuring approximately 15 x 7 cm (bearing contract code E 243).
A sterile field dressing pocket pack (Verbandpäckchen keimfrei) measuring 7 x 6 cm, cleanly stamped with the initials "JK".
A grey wartime German military bandage manufactured in 1940 by the prominent firm Lohmann K.G. from Fahr am Rhein.
