Folding Officer's Boot Jack - Rekord
Category:
€ 69,00
An original and highly practical WWII German period folding compact boot jack (Stiefelknecht / Kleinknecht), manufactured by the well-known firm Rekord. Unlike the large, non-folding wooden boot jacks that remained stationary in barracks, these premium metal folding variants were highly favored as personal field gear by officers and vehicle crews. Their compact, space-saving design allowed them to be easily stored next to a field bed or inside armored vehicles and staff cars. A classic example of privately purchased organizational or personal comfort equipment used during the war.

The boot jack is in nice, completely functional condition throughout, showing honest period use. The Mechanism: The ingenious folding hinge mechanism functions flawlessly, allowing the boot jack to fold completely flat for transport and lock securely into place for use. The Finish: The folding hinge assembly retains much of its original, factory-applied grey finish. The metal arms show an appealing, uncleaned dark age patina with typical superficial scuffs from operational use. Markings: The frame is crisply stamped with the prominent period manufacturer's brand name: "Rekord". True to later or commercial production variations, this specific piece was manufactured without D.R.P. or D.R.G.M. stamps, remaining 100% textbook for this maker's run.
