Rare Matching 1943 German 4-Piece "Klaue" Field Utensil Set - 'gag 43' Marked. Elite Langenbeck & Co. Solingen Production - Stainless Steel Holder & Eagle Stamped Knife

This Item
An outstanding, historically rich, and 100% factory-matching original World War II German military 4-piece combination field cutlery set (Essbesteck), frequently nicknamed the "Klaue" (Claw) by ordnance collectors. This ingenious engineering marvel allowed frontline Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe soldiers to carry a complete dining set compactly nested inside their breadbag (Brotbeutel). Unlike standard composite sets, this premium 1943-dated ensemble remains entirely factory-matching and features an exceptionally rare ordnance marking on the knife blade itself. The Premium Material Construction: The main outer housing/holder (which doubles as a highly functional can and bottle opener) is crafted from high-grade stainless steel (RVS), remaining entirely rust-free with a brilliant finish. In strict textbook accordance with mid-war manufacturing regulations, the internal cutlery pieces—the combat knife, fork, and spoon—are masterfully produced from heavy-duty combat steel. All components slide together and click into the central housing with a solid field fit.
The Exceptional Eagle Markings: The face of the stainless steel outer holder is deeply and crisply stamped with a beautifully detailed German national army eagle emblem (vogel). Crucially, and as an extraordinary rarity seldom encountered on the market, the face of the steel knife blade is also deeply struck with the official national eagle emblem—a highly coveted factory variant that provides immense added value for specialized gear collectors. The 100% Factory-Matching Stamps: Every single one of the four components features matching wartime manufacturer marks and date stamps. The outer holder, the knife handle, the fork handle, and the spoon handle are all deeply and crisply stamped with the matching code gag 43, confirming elite, synchronized production by the legendary blade firm Langenbeck & Co., Solingen-Ohligs in 1943. Condition & Patina Note: The set remains in an honest, field-used combat condition, showing signs of active deployment and period handling. The steel utensils and housing have been heavily cleaned and polished over time, resulting in a smooth finish that beautifully highlights the historic stamped details, while retaining an attractive, authentic old-world age patina in the deeper recesses.
