The set features a solid aluminum box buckle, manufactured between 1936 and 1940 before production shifted completely to steel. The buckle retains fantastic character, with original field-grey (Dunkelgrün) factory paint still visibly nestled in the deep recesses around the crisp eagle design and the "Gott Mit Uns" motto. The reverse side shows an intact internal catch mechanism with the original prongs fully functional and ready to be mounted.The accompanying thick leather combat belt is in a beautifully worn, supple condition and remains entirely unshortened. It features a highly unique and scarce depot or tailor size stamp '92' on the adjustment tongue, which is an absolute rarity compared to the standard sizes typically rounded to 5 centimeters. The adjustment tongue also displays the unmistakable contours of an early oval saddler (Sattlerwarenfabrik) manufacturer stamp pressed into the leather. Highlighting the premium quality of this rig, the aluminum catch is proudly stamped with the coveted 'OLC' within a diamond logo, signifying production by the prestigious firm Overhoff & Cie from Solingen.An honest, character-rich combat-worn set that tells a real frontline story.
