Original WWII German Issue Field Soap Block. This is an original, unissued example of a standard WWII German military issue field soap block (Kriegsseife / Surrogatseife). These compact blocks (measuring 5x5 cm) were a staple of the German soldier's personal hygiene kit, carried inside the breadbag (Brotbeutel) or stored in a bakelite soap container (Seifendose) . Due to severe wartime fat shortages, these civilian and military surrogate soaps were manufactured with minimal fat content, often utilizing alternative mineral bases.The soap block remains in its original raw, unused condition, clearly displaying the characteristic factory cutting lines and dry, compressed wartime texture. A fantastic and highly affordable personal kit item to complete an authentic Wehrmacht frontline display.
