WWII German Luftwaffe Front Flying Clasp for Fighter Pilots in Bronze - Early 'Buntmetall' Issue by JunckerAn original World War II German Luftwaffe Front Flying Clasp for Fighter Pilots and Zerstörer Crews (Frontflugspange für Jäger in Bronze), instituted by Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring on January 30, 1941. This Bronze Class combat award was officially presented to fighter pilots for completing 20 documented operational front-line missions. The insignia features a superb multi-piece construction, die-struck from premium tombak/Buntmetall, centered with a separately manufactured, chemically blackened stylized fighter arrow pointing vertically upwards, with its fletched tail resting directly against the wreath above the swastika. The reverse provides critical technical and material authentication. The independent central fighter arrow insert is securely anchored to the core via a single, factory-flatted central rivet, standard for textbook early fighter clasp variants produced by the prestigious master firm C.E. Juncker of Berlin. The hardware configuration is 100% complete and unaltered, comprising a massive block-style hinge and a correct round wire C-catch, both attached via perfect factory solder beds holding the original broad, flat horizontal pin under tight period tension. The condition is outstanding and untouched, retaining a substantial amount of its original deep bronze finish across both surfaces with natural dark age tarnish within the recessed contours of the oak-leaf wings. A textbook, highly desirable Luftwaffe fighter pilot award with an unblemished reverse.
