Luftwaffe Bomber Clasp in Silver - Early Tombak Variant (Upward Bomb)An exceptional, investment-grade example of an early-war Luftwaffe Bomber Clasp in Silver (Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger und Sturzkampfflieger in Silber). This highly desirable piece is a textbook early production, die-struck from heavy Tombak (Buntmetall) with a premium frosted silver finish and polished highlights. Crucially, this features the sought-after early variant with the central bomb emblem pointed upward. The blackened zinc bomb device is firmly secured to the center of the laurel wreath by its original, factory-set steel rivet. The reverse showcases an entirely flawless, untouched hardware configuration, featuring a classic wide flat pin (Flachnadel), a robust integrated barrel hinge, and a sturdy wire catch soldered directly to the base. The silver finish on the reverse shows beautiful, light period toning with absolutely no modern cleaning or alterations. Introduced on January 30, 1941, by Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring, the silver grade was strictly awarded upon completion of 60 operational combat missions. An immaculate, early-war elite flight award that is impossible to upgrade.
