German military combat bayonet (Seitengewehr 84/98 III) was manufactured in 1938 by the highly desirable maker Coppel G.m.b.H. Solingen. The single-edged blade remains in beautiful condition, retaining a generous amount of its original factory-blued finish. The hilt is fitted with original dark wood grips and showcases sharp Waffenamt military inspection stamps on the pommel.The reverse side of the metal scabbard features an exceptionally crisp and highly collectible manufacturer stamping for Jos. Corts Sn. Remscheid alongside the production year 1939. While the set is historically non-matching, the scabbard itself is in very neat cosmetic condition without heavy dents. The assembly comes complete with an exceptional, solid, and near-mint condition black leather frog. A textbook early-war combat piece with prominent maker marks, perfect for advanced field gear or edged weapons displays.
