1939 Wound Badge in Black – Crisp 'Brass Core' Combat ConditionDescriptionA very fine, untouched example of a 1939 pattern Wound Badge in Black (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). This early to mid-war production piece is struck with excellent high-relief detailing, featuring the central M35 steel helmet with a crisp swastika over crossed swords, enclosed by a laurel wreath. The badge displays an attractive, honest combat-worn patina, where the factory black finish has naturally migrated off the high points, beautifully highlighting the underlying brass/tombak core material. The reverse remains complete with its original vertical pin and catch assembly. A highly aesthetic, uncleaned award for any display.
