General's Tunic in Tan Fabric, made in Paris

Here we have a stripped General's Tunic in Tan Fabric - Richard & Cie Paris. An incredibly rare and completely untouched WWII German Army (Heer) General's tunic. This premium service blouse was custom-tailored by the prestigious maker Richard & Cie in Paris during the German occupation of France. Unlike the standard feldgrau uniforms, this specific piece is executed in a distinctive tan-coloured luxury fabric, indicating it was custom-made for tropical, North African, or Southern European/Mediterranean theater deployment. It features the signature deep scarlet/carmine red piping (Paspelierung) along the front closure, signifying the high rank of a General officer.This piece appears to have been stripped of its primary insignia—most likely during or immediately after the war while the officer was in captivity (Prisoner of War), a very common historical practice. The "ghost" and distinct shade differences in the fabric are clearly visible where the sewn-in shoulder boards and the breast eagle once sat.Crucially, the tunic is 100% untouched and original; all the gold-gilded buttons are still perfectly in place, match the jacket flawlessly, and were likewise manufactured in Paris. The beautiful hand-embroidered collar tabs (Kragenspiegels) are of outstanding quality, executed with genuine gold bullion thread (Goldfaden), and display an exquisite, deep age patina.The tunic boasts an impressive configuration for awards, featuring 13 original factory-made loops for medals across the chest, including placement on both the left and right sides where a Deutsches Kreuz in Gold (German Cross in Gold) was proudly worn. Interestingly, there is a single unexplainable loop located on the lower right, adding a unique bit of character and mystery to the garment.ConditionOverall State: Excellent, unaltered condition. The unique tan fabric shows beautiful, authentic period wear and distinct shade variations where insignia used to protect the cloth.Fabric & Lining: The interior silk/rayon lining remains entirely intact. The lower underside of both sleeves features unique period reinforcement fabric to prevent wear and tear.Damage: Fully moth-free except for a few tiny, minor moth holes on the left sleeve.Insignia: Stripped of shoulder boards and breast eagle.
