Rare Late-War Named WW2 German Kriegsmarine Personal Belongings Chest - 'H. Bähr' Nordsee 1945 - Complete with Lock & Key. An outstanding and historically significant late-war World War II German Kriegsmarine personal belongings cabinet/chest (Personalienkästchen). This private locker box is completely untouched, unrestored, and deeply named to a German sailor who served in the final months of the war.The front features its original riveted zinc identification nameplate, crisply stamped with the sailor's name and official naval stamboek details: "H. BÄHR / N. 176/45". The 'N' designates his enlistment and assignment to the Marinestation Nordsee (North Sea Naval Station, Wilhelmshaven), while the /45 explicitly verifies his induction in the historical year of 1945. Late-war marked personal naval gear from 1945 is exceptionally difficult to find. The woodwork is in premium vintage condition, retaining a gorgeous natural golden-brown patina that has never been sanded or overpainted. It features all original zinc-plated steel protective corner reinforcement brackets. Adding immense collector value, the chest comes entirely complete with its original period-correct "Gato" padlock and functional key. A textbook, museum-grade example of late-war Kriegsmarine personal gear with fantastic research potential. SpecificationsOwner/Sailor: H.
