WWII German Panzerkampfabzeichen (Panzer Assault Badge) - Solid Zinc - Completely Intact Combat ConditionAn original, untouched textbook WWII German Panzer Assault Badge (Panzerkampfabzeichen), originally instituted on December 20, 1939, to recognize the gallantry of armored crews and tank commanders who participated in multiple distinct combat assaults. This piece is a desirable mid-to-late war solid zinc construction (Vollprägung). The badge displays a very heavy, honest combat or field-recovery zinc oxidation and patina throughout the surfaces, giving it an incredible, authentic 'salty' and battlefield-used appearance. Crucially, despite the heavy surface aging, the badge remains 100% structurally complete and intact. The reverse retains its original wartime hardware configuration, featuring the complete vertical steel/brass attachment pin, the integrated round top hinge setup, and the original base hook firmly in place. The main silhouette of the Panzer tank, its tracks, and the Wehrmacht-style eagle at the top remain fully visible under the oxidation. A highly honest, character-rich combat award that serves as an excellent, untouched example of a front-line veteran piece.
