Imperial German Pickelhaube Transport Case with exceptionally Fresh Yellow Cloth Interior – Factory Stock Find. A 100% original WWI Imperial German protective transport case (Helmschachtel) designed to hold and protect a spiked Pickelhaube helmet during transit. This specific example was discovered years ago as part of an untouched, old factory/warehouse stock (Lagerbestand) in Germany, explaining the remarkably vibrant and clean condition of the interior. An excellent accessory to complete a high-end helmet display, presenting beautifully alongside an original Prussian or Bavarian headgear setup. Dimensions: Height: 27 cm | Width: 28 cm. Perfectly sized to accommodate most standard other ranks and officer patterned Pickelhauben. Crafted from heavy, black-lacquered pressed fiber/cardboard. The exterior shows an honest period patina. Please note that the leather closure strap is missing, and one of the small side loop guides is broken—very typical for these fragile storage boxes. Despite this, the lid still closes very tightly and securely. The interior is fully lined in original yellow cloth (both the body and the base), which remains incredibly fresh, clean, and free of the typical heavy staining, water damage, or moth bites.A choice, untouched accessory that provides a major display upgrade for any Imperial German headgear collection.
