This is an original Imperial German WW1 M1895 Enlisted Leather Belt (Koppelriemen für Mannschaften) packed with frontline character and measuring a highly desirable, unmodified length of 95 centimeters. It comes complete with its early-pattern, solid brass end catch (Gegenhaken), indicating pre-1915 manufacture before the German military switched to cheaper painted iron hardware due to wartime shortages. A fantastic standout feature of this belt is the inner leather adjustment tongue, which showcases a period frontline repair. After the original factory stitching gave way under tension, it was carefully and sturdily re-secured by a soldier using original copper wire. The leather is full length, never shortened, and features an official unit or depot issue stamp showing either a number 3 or 8. This is a great, honest combat piece in a highly sought-after display size that clearly saw action during the Great War.
