Reichskanzlei Feldpost Postcard - Panzer-Regiment 2

Berlin Reichskanzlei Feldpost Postcard - Panzer-Regiment 2 History

An original wartime photographic postcard featuring the Reichskanzlei (Reich Chancellery) on Wilhelmstraße in Berlin, depicted decorated in ceremonial Nazi swastika swags ("Die Reichskanzlei im Flaggenschmuck"). This excellent postally used Feldpost example features a fascinating military history on the reverse. Handwritten in traditional Kurrent script by a soldier named Fridolin to his loved one, the message checks in on two packages he sent home and expresses excitement about an upcoming military leave. Crucially, the card bears the field post designation Feldpostnummer 04723, which historically checks out to the Stab I. Abteilung / Panzer-Regiment 2 (16th Panzer Division). The address section features period military ink corrections and cancellations. The card remains in solid condition with characterful light silvering, sharp text, and a highly desirable connection to a combat Panzer unit.
