Imperial German Enamelled Steel Mess Kit

€ 124,00
An exceptionally nice, completely matching WWI Imperial German Army steel mess kit (Kochgeschirr M15/17). This model was introduced during the mid-to-late war period to replace the pre-war aluminum variants due to wartime resource shortages. The exterior retains nearly all of its original, matte factory-applied field-gray/green finish, showing only minimal storage wear and light superficial patina. Crucially, the interior of both the base pot and the lid features the textbook glossy, salt-and-pepper speckled gray enamel lining, which remains exceptionally clean and largely intact. The wire carrying handle, hinge assembly, and securing hardware are in perfect, fully functional condition, closing tightly and flush with no structural dents. While unmarked or unstamped, both pieces are a visually flawless, matching wartime pair. A pristine, honest example of a late-war Imperial German Landser’s essential field gear.
