WWII German Army Artillery Hauptmann Tunic - Jos. Brüggen Bonn - Mint / Unissued Tailor Stock
An exceptional, museum-grade German WWII officer's custom-tailored service tunic (Eigentumsstück) for a Captain (Hauptmann) within an Artillery regiment. This high-grade piece was recently recovered from a historic tailor's archive and remains in a virtually unissued, pristine state of preservation. Constructed from a premium, tight-weave field-gray wool-twill cloth, it features the textbook dark bottle-green collar and matching Artillery-red (hochrot) piped shoulder boards and collar tabs.
The tunic features an incredible, heavy hand-embroidered silver aluminum wire national breast eagle, meticulously applied directly above the right breast pocket. The left breast pocket displays a highly uncommon custom feature: a professionally tailored round aperture loop specifically designed to securely accommodate a screwback Iron Cross 1st Class (EK1 mit Schraubscheibe) without puncturing the uniform fabric. Directly above are five original thread loops for a ribbon bar. The interior is fully lined in a luxurious green satin cloth and retains its beautiful, woven manufacturer's label reading: "Jos. Brüggen - Das führende Maßgeschäft für feine Uniformen, Zivil - BONN". It comes complete with its original nickel-plated internal dagger suspension hanger assembly. All factory buttons retain 100% of their original matte green finish. Condition is absolute mint with the exception of one singular pinhead-sized storage moth nip on the reverse of the right elbow. A fantastic, generous size suitable for a high-end mannequin display. Note: price does not include the Iron Cross first Class, however, it's for sale seperatly!
