Gebirgsjäger hammer

A "Gebirgsjäger hammer" from World War II was a climbing hammer, also called a piton hammer, used by German mountain troops (Gebirgsjäger). This hammer was essential for mountaineering and rock climbing and was used to hammer pegs into rocks for clinging or rappelling. They often had a special shape, such as a long handle and a pointed head, and were produced by manufacturers such as Stubai. Used for climbing and scrambling in mountainous terrain, such as securing ropes and creating anchor points.
Design: Its distinctive feature was a pointed head that could be used to punch a hole in the rock, in addition to the normal hammer blow.
