WW1 Imperial Reichsmarine flag from the Acheron
Category:
SMS Acheron was a name given to the former German Imperial Navy corvette SMS Moltke after it was decommissioned from active combat duty. The ship was launched in 1877 as a Bismarck-class corvette named SMS Moltke. It was renamed Acheron on October 28, 1911. The name "Moltke" was reassigned to a new battlecruiser launched in 1910. Following its renaming, it served as a hulk (stationary vessel) and barracks ship for submarine crews at the U-boat school in Kiel. The ship was finally sold for scrap and dismantled in 1920.
This item:
A very nice multi layer Imperial flag, extremely nice marked with the vessel's name, harbor and date. A very nice and desirable size of 60 CM x 100 CM, a true survivor!
