This is a weatherproof crate used to store a parachute for a drop container, not a personal parachute. The drop containers were dropped over an area where the paratroopers had landed. These drop containers could contain various supplies such as weapons, ammunition, rations, and the like. This one is the rare type 29903, a relatively small model with a beautiful apple green color and very clearly legible text. It measures 35 x 37 x 38 cm, so it's almost square. A rare example!
