The RblF. (Rundblick-Fernglas Flak) is an optical panoramic telescope sight used on German World War II 8.8 cm Flak 18/36/37 anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns. These sights allowed gunners to track aerial targets and engage ground targets, featuring high-quality optics (often by makers like "djg") and, in some models, a rubber eye protector. RblF. stands for Rundblick-Fernglas (panoramic telescope/binocular) for Flak (Fliegerabwehrkanone, or anti-aircraft gun). It was designed to help the gunner aim the 88mm gun, which was used for both high-altitude anti-aircraft fire and direct-fire against ground targets. It was fitted to various models of the 88mm gun (Flak 18, 36, and 37). The sight was used for traversing the gun and, in conjunction with other data, for aiming.

This Kriegsmarine 88 flak telescopic sight, made by "djg," which stands for the maker Joseph Veltjens KG, based in Berlin-Tempelhof, is in good working order. It bears the capital "M," which stands for Marine. The instrument has a very clear view, and everything is very smoothly adjustable. Fortunately, the rubber eyecup, which is often missing, is still included. It is still in its original case, which has a tropical varnish finish. The leather grip is complete but torn. Some of the inscription is still legible. The wooden interior is missing, but the inside of the box looks neat in its original factory paint. The leather strap is still in the lid, and the instructions are also mounted in the lid. All in all, a well-functioning instrument in good condition, complete with eyecup and in its original case.
