This item:
complete with the H/6400 Strichplatte rangefinding reticule. A strichplatte is a reticle, rangefinder grid, or graticule located inside one of the eyepieces. It is a specialized optical feature used to measure distances, estimate the size of distant objects, or calculate firing corrections. The reticle is typically located in the right-hand eyepiece. It usually consists of a horizontal line with markings (hashes) that represent specific angles or distances, sometimes referred to as a "5 and 10 point" scale. It was crucial for artillery officers, Panzer commanders, and infantry scouts to determine how far away an enemy target was (range finding). It appears as a thin, black etched scale visible over the magnified image. This binoculars is Marked dienstglas 6 x 30 "dym" which stands for Runge & Kaulfuss from Rathenow. A very rare maker, mainly associated with supplying their optical equipment direct to both Polizei & Waffen-SS personnel! The lenses are both very clear and the strichplatte is intact. The sling is present but on one end the knot is missing. A very rare pair of binoculars!
