A German World War II S.A. dagger (SA-Dienstdolch) is an ornamental service weapon worn by members of the Sturmabteilung (Storm Detachment or "Brownshirts"), the original paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party. Introduced in 1933, the dagger was designed as a symbol of status and rank rather than a primary combat weapon. It is characterized by its brown wooden handle, nickel-silver fittings, and a blade etched with the motto "Alles für Deutschland" ("Everything for Germany"). The design was commissioned by Adolf Hitler in 1933, based on a 16th-century Swiss "Holbein" hunting dagger. Blades are inscribed with the SA motto in gothic script: Alles für Deutschland. The grip is made of brown-stained hardwood, featuring an inset nickel Nazi eagle and a roundel containing the "SA" runes. Early models (pre-1936) featured brown anodized scabbards, while later models were typically painted brown.

This is a beautiful Julius Krebs dagger from the RZM period. It's a beautiful dagger in every respect. The scabbard is in a near mint condition. The nickel fittings fit neatly and tightly. The scabbard is absolutely true to the dagger, which, incidentally, has never been opened. The hilt is in fantastic condition with beautiful wood grain. The aluminum bird and the S.A. emblem are very firmly in place. The crossguard and pommel fit perfectly to the hilt. The blade is beautiful, and the point is sharp and fits like a glove in the scabbard. In every respect, this is a beautiful item!
