The M43 cap trapezoid (of trapeze emblem) was the standard combined insignia for the German Einheitsfeldmütze (M43 field cap), introduced in May 1943. It replaced the earlier two-piece badges (loose eagle and cockade) by combining both elements on a single trapezoidal plane for faster production.
