The Heeresverwaltung (Army Administration) was a vital branch of the Wehrmacht, responsible for logistics, financial administration, and judicial matters. Officials in this branch wore specific insignia that mirrored military ranks but featured unique branch colors (Waffenfarbe). These collar tabs were worn by officials of the "gehobener Dienst" (elevated service), individuals who often held academic degrees and managed the complex machinery of the German Army.
This item:
A superb, matching set of Heeresverwaltung (HV) Officer’s Collar Tabs (Kragenspiegel). These are authentic "uniform removed" pieces, showing great character and honest wear.
Construction: High-quality silver bullion hand-woven on a dark bottle-green wool base (typical for the M36/M40 era). Features the distinctive double dark-green stripes (Litzen) and is surrounded by a crisp white piping, indicating a career official in the elevated service. In very nice, combat-worn condition. Crucially, the reverse shows the original stitch holes and remnants of thread from when they were removed from a tunic. This is a true mirrored pair, perfectly aged together, which is essential for a high-end display or restoration project.
Sourced from an old US-based collection. A textbook set of officer’s insignia that perfectly captures the "been there" look.
