Mint Sand-Coloured Gasplane set by GDN

Mint/Unissued WWII German Sand-Coloured Gasplane Bag & Cape Set - Factory Modification (gdn). An exceptional, unissued, and rare World War II German gas cape pouch and cape set (Gasplane mit Tasche), sourced directly from an old factory surplus stock (Depot Find). The pouch is manufactured in the highly desirable sand-coloured canvas/webbing material by the well-known maker gdn (J. Demmer, Iserlohn). Pouches from this manufacturer are famous for their sand-coloured fabric, but are typically found with steel press-studs that often suffered from severe oxidation during wartime storage. This specific piece is a rare factory-modified variant. To counter the rusting issue, the factory reinforced the flap with proper buttonholes and fitted two green buttons instead. The set is in choice, mint, and unissued surplus condition throughout. The sand-coloured pouch is entirely complete and undamaged, featuring the factory-modified reinforced buttonholes and original green buttons. Inside, the pouch retains its original, untouched khaki-coloured gas cape (Gasplane). The cape is still tightly folded and complete with its original factory paper label cleanly printed with the wartime production specifications: "127/42/8 80 Gr" (denoting the batch code, the 1942 production year, inspection markings, and the official 80-gram weight specification). Both components show perfect, synchronized storage aging without any of the typical field wear or rust damage.
