Matching Pair of Combat Gaiters (Gamaschen 1943)

A choice, 100% original, and beautifully preserved matching pair of late-war World War II German combat gaiters (Gamaschen). Introduced widely from 1943 onwards to conserve leather by replacing the traditional tall jackboots, these gaiters were worn around the ankles in combination with the standard lace-up combat ankle boots (Schnürschuhe). Finding these items in an absolute unissued surplus condition (Depot Find) and as a true matching factory pair is increasingly difficult. An essential addition for completing a mid-to-late war Wehrmacht Heer or Luftwaffe combat mannequin display.

The pair is in exceptional, mint, and unissued condition throughout. The gaiters are manufactured from heavy-duty, field-grey (Feldgrau) canvas webbing, showing no signs of field wear, stains, or fraying. All structural black leather reinforcements remain strong and completely supple. The zinc-coated metal buckles are completely intact and display their original finish without corrosion. True to the material-saving regulations of 1943, the leather straps are finished without metal end-tips. Crucially, both gaiters feature a matching factory ink stamp on the interior canvas. While the specific manufacturer's name is faintly struck and difficult to read, the 1943 production year date is clearly legible on both pieces.
