This item is a 18.5 cm miniature dress bayonet (Miniatur-Extrabajonett), manufactured during the Third Reich era by the renowned Solingen maker E. & F. Hörster. Miniature daggers and bayonets were highly popular commercial items during this period. They were primarily purchased by military personnel, veterans, or party officials to serve as functional letter openers or decorative desk ornaments. These high-quality miniatures allowed owners to display their branch affiliation or pride in a civilian office environment. The presence of serial numbers and stylized letters on miniatures typically mirrors the marking system of official military-issue combat weapons, adding an extra layer of authentic detail to these private-purchase pieces.
