A beautifully preserved and scarce WW2 German Enameled Steel Canteen Cup (Feldflasche Becher). This period variant is manufactured in steel and features a highly desirable, factory-applied black enameled interior designed to prevent rusting. The reverse of the cup is crisply stamped with the manufacturer code and date: AEMA 42. The cup remains in lightly used, excellent period condition. It retains nearly all of its original factory-applied field green exterior paint, which is exceptionally rare for these steel combat variations as the paint on steel usually flakes off easily over time. Exterior: Retains approximately 90-95% of its original rough-textured green paint, showing only honest, minor storage and wear traces. Interior: The black enamel coating remains completely intact, glossy, and smooth, with no major chips, exposing no underlying rusted steel. Markings: Clearly and deeply stamped AEMA 42 on the upper rim near the handle loops, indicating production by Annweiler Email- u. Metall-Werke in 1942.
