€ 159,00
An exceptional, textbook example of an early-war German military officer's map case (Meldetasche), constructed from high-quality, supple brown pebbled leather. This specific variant is equipped with the desirable and fully integrated rear leather hanger and metal buckle system, designed for a secure, direct attachment to the combat belt. The case features premium aluminum hardware fittings throughout and retains its original leather pull-out cord tucked inside the right side compartment.Remarkably, the case comes complete with an original period combat map of Ypern (Ypres). The map features a highly significant historical ink stamp on the reverse: "Nach der Verordnung über die Presse des Oberbefehlshabers Ost zur Einfuhr in dieses Gebiet zugelassen", indicating official press clearance by the Supreme Commander of the East. The map case shows beautiful, light period field wear with tight stitching and absolutely no structural damage. A top-tier, historically rich display set.
