A high-quality, pre-war German Wehrmacht M30 gas mask set. The rubberized canvas M30 facepiece is in excellent, supple condition and features a very early interior Waffenamt (WaA) inspection stamp dated 1936. The mask comes complete with its original anti-dimming spare lenses (Klarscheiben) stored inside the lid compartment, which is maker-marked by Johannes Erhard ("joh") and dated 1938.The mask is fitted with an interesting pre-war ARS-type filter cartridge stamped with a 1939 date contract. The accompanying short-model corrugated steel transport canister (Blechbüchse M30) remains in a nearly unissued, excellent state of preservation with almost all its original field-grey paint intact. The bottom of the canister displays a crisp, purple WaA ink stamp alongside a clear 1938 date. The short closing strap is present, while the long shoulder strap is missing. A beautiful, untouched early textbook set.
