GM38 Auer Gas Mask (Luftschutz Issue) & Canister Set - 1939Description:A beautiful, complete, and highly interesting matching set featuring a military-issue GM38 Gasmaske manufactured by Auer, which was officially inspected and stamped for Luftschutz home defense use. The olive-green canvas/rubber facepiece is in excellent, supple condition and is clearly stamped with the Luftschutz-Abnahme mark, dated December 1939 (12 1939).The original corrugated metal storage canister retains its factory green paint, original webbed carrying straps, and features the original owner's name handwritten on the bottom. The filter is complete with its paper instruction label for civil defense (für den zivilen Luftschutz) and bears a crisp, early-style Waffenamt inspection stamp. A rare crossover showcasing military-grade equipment officially issued to the Luftschutz organization.
