WWII German Ordnance Bakelite Container for Kart. Vorl. H.13 (15 cm sFH 13 Howitzer) Wehrmacht artillery transport container manufactured from premium mottled dark brown Bakelite, clearly embossed on the body with the designation "Kart. Vorl. H.13". Measuring approximately 17 x 16 cm, this specialized protective canister was utilized by combat crews to store the combustible cartridge-case powder increments (Kartuschen-Vorlagen) completely watertight for the heavy 15 cm field howitzer 13 (schwere Feldhaubitze 13). The main cylindrical body is in excellent, stable condition with rich coloration. The threaded screw-on cap has a small piece of Bakelite missing along the textured rim; however, the threads remain entirely unaffected and the lid still screws on smoothly and closes perfectly flush. A very honest, highly displayable piece of German WWII field gear directly linked to legendary heavy artillery operations.
