M31 Artillery Rucksack - 1941 Bruno Leunert (Bretnig)A very clean and honest example of an original German M31 rucksack (Rucksack für Unberittene), typically issued to artillery crews, medical personnel, and drivers. This specific 1941-dated transitional model features a fascinating mixture of materials driven by early-war economies, showcasing heavy khaki canvas shoulder straps with aluminum eyelets—closely resembling DAK and tropical web gear—combined with its original two-tone red and white drawstring cord. The rucksack is in excellent, unmanipulated condition with very fresh olive-khaki color. The leather reinforcement tabs and metal hardware remain entirely intact and functional, with no modifications or typical post-war alterations. The central leather tab features a beautifully deep and crisp manufacturer stamp by the desirable maker Bruno Leunert, dated 1941 and marked with the original Bretnig location. A superb, textbook personal gear item with great character, perfect for a combat display.
