A solid, honest lot of four original WWII German K98 bayonets (Seitengewehr 84/98 III). All pieces are non-matching but remain in good, untouched condition. An excellent instant collection or perfect for completing combat displays and mannequins. Sold together as a single lot.
Item 1: 43 asw with fze 42 Scabbard & FrogManufacturer: E. & F. Hörster (43 asw)Scabbard: F.W. Höller (fze 42)Grips: Wood, showing clear WaA (Waffenamt) inspection stamps.Condition: Fair to good combat-used condition. The small retaining screw for the scabbard throat/runner is missing, though the throat still sits very tightly in place. Includes an original leather frog, though the stitching on one side has completely come undone (restoration project or left as-is for display).
Item 2: J.Sch. 1938 – Early Serial #550 (Post-War Arsenal Re-issue)Manufacturer: Jetter & Scheerer, Tuttlingen (J.Sch. 1938) – A highly desirable and less common non-Solingen maker.Serial Number: Ultra-early production number 550 (no letter block) on the blade.Grips: Wood.Condition: Near mint metal condition. This piece is a classic post-war Eastern Bloc / Russian Capture arsenal overhaul. The entire bayonet was chemically re-blued during the process, resulting in a deep, crisp finish. As per arsenal practice, the crossguard and the scabbard frog lug were force-matched with the stamped number 7994. A very clean piece with an interesting history.
Item 3: Dürkopp 1938 with E.u.F. Hörster 1938 ScabbardManufacturer: Dürkopp (1938 dated on spine)Scabbard: E.u.F. Hörster 1938Grips: Dark bakelite. The pommel/grip frame shows some small, typical period dings (likely used for tapping small nails).Condition: Honest, untouched condition. The scabbard has worn down to a smooth, bare metal patina with no remaining bluing.
Item 4: 41 fnj with Non-Matching ScabbardManufacturer: Alexander Coppel GmbH, Solingen (41 fnj)Grips: Dark bakelite.Condition: The blade is in very nice condition, retaining roughly 80% of its original factory bluing. The non-matching scabbard shows some minor period dings and bumps, and has been repainted over the years.
